Brahma Kamal plant is belongs to cactus family, this plant is commonly known as Night blooming Cereus, it looks like a  beautiful Lotus like flower blooms throughout the  night. Where to keep Brahma kamala plant?
If you are growing in a small pot at home. You have to keep Brahma Kamal at least five to six hours of direct sunlight and it can tolerate partial shade. 

When to Water ?
Brahma Kamal does not need too much of water. You must water it once in two to three days unless if you stay in dry place. It is a cactus, so Never over water this plant let the soil dry and add water. since it is Cactus plant it will survive for long without water. 

Flower
Brahma Kamal is a night flowering variety of plant. The blooming begins some time in the late evening and  open through out night. This plant blooms in night, Blooming starts from late evening. Blooming season is  somewhere between July and September.


To have this magnificent plant in your Home garden, You can propagate us in two ways. The plant grows from Stem cuttings and Leave cuttings. 

Soil Mixture
To grow Brahma kamala plant soil mixture is very important, you have to use Gardening soil of 50%, River sand 25% and Organic compost. Mix all these soil And having Effective Drainage is important for Brahma Kamala plant to grow well.

When to feed Fertilizer?
Brahma Kamala has moderate fertilization needs. One of the major issue you will face is Brahma Kamala leaves are drooping or plant is dying. Apply cow dung manure to improve the quality of the soil and to grow well.

Effective Drainage
An excellent soil drainage is crucial to grow Brahma Kamala plant. Take a pot make a small hole and fill with a small stone for the effective drainage. Fill the pot with the soil mixture of garden soil, river sand and organic compost.

Propagating  Brahma Kamala
To have this magnificent plant in your Home garden you have to propagate and grow, the plant grows from Stem cuttings and Leaves, Take a leave cuttings  from the mother plant and best season to propagate during the growing season in spring and summer.

Fill the pot with soil mixture and spay water to keep the soil moisture before planting. Make a small holes and  push the bottom part of the stem cutting into the soil. Lightly. spray water to keep moisture after planting.

After 30 days  you can see the well developed roots from all the leaves.

You can repot all the well developed Brahma Kamala plants in a new pot to grow individually.
