Do’s and Don’ts to Grow Wedelia Plant

About Wedelia :

Wedelia plant, is a perennial herb and you can see with dark green leaves and beautiful small bright yellow flowers.

You can grow as a groundcover plant planted in large scale in your gardens. As you know, Wedelia is recognized as a weed throughout countries.  Wedelia plant is tending to spread very quickly so this plant is a real threat to agricultural areas

Growing it in your HOME garden is typically not a good idea. If you are going to grow it, keep it in a hanging basket or in a small container. 

Propagation

Wedelia plant is easy to propagate using stem cuttings. You can take a stem cutting of three to four inches from mother plant. And remove the leaves from the bottom. And also remove the dead and dry leaves.

You can Take small hanging basket or a pot and make a small hole.  You have to fill with a small stone for the effective drainage

Soil
Wedelia plant grow in garden soil. You can use Garden soil or sand to grow this plant. No need of any compost. You have to fill the pot with Garden Soil or Sand.

You can Insert the stem cuttings in the soil a few inches deeper, with leaves above the soil surface. Mist it lightly and you can keep this plant in full sun or low light area.

Sun
This plants thrive in the heat and are very drought-tolerant once established. If you wish to boost the life span of the plant, make sure not to overwater it. In fact, let the soil dry before watering it again. Moreover, water the plant less frequently in the rainy season.

It is not an edible plant and should not be eaten by pets, livestock or children. 

Plant needs  12 days for development of the roots
